Genus
From EvoWiki
Genus (plural: Genera) is a grouping in the classification of organisms. In binomial nomenclature the genus name comes before the species name and is capitalised:
Genus species Homo sapiens
etc.
Genus names are unique within kingdoms, but not between them, e.g. Anura, both a plant genus and an animal genus.
